Hello,
I've just ordered a samsung 830 SSD but my MB is only SATA 2- I've been looking at the ASUS U3S6 card to give me some SUB3 and SATA3 connectors, do you think it's worth it?

You won't really notice any real world performance difference as discussed HERE, and that particular card has issues with many motherboards, so if you do want to buy it first make sure that you find evidence that it will work well with your motherboard.
