Two graphics cards for two displays?

I have two monitors. I like to game on one while playing a movie/TV show on the other. Right now I have both monitors connected to my 4890. Would it give me better graphics to connect my secondary monitor to a Geforce 7100GS that I've got lying around? Would I get better FPS? Could I still have an extended desktop?

  1. I've just tried this and I have some strange results. The FPS of some games have decreased slightly. When playing some games on my primary monitor (4890), it makes my secondary monitor (7100GS) go black. It's almost as if they're trying to work together. Can't I use these both in peace, or is there something I'm overlooking?
