^ You still need OS and monitor in that budget ?
And I doubt you will be able to get an i7 920 build within that budget with the monitor and OS...

Changes:
Monitor: Subtract $150
CPU: i7-920 Add $89
Mobo: Asus P6X58D Premium Add $30 (above the combo)
RAM: G.Skill Pi Series 3x2 GB 1600 mhz CAS Latency 7 Add $65

Total: $964.

If that's too much, here are some changes from above:

CPU: i7-860 Subtract $9
Mobo: Asus P7P55D-E Pro Subtract $120

Total: $835.

Ok so i think this may be what i go with. Let me know what you think!!!

Case: HAF 922
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Memory: G-Skill P.I. Series (3x2)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Mobo: ASUS P7P55D E-Pro
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

CPU: i7 920

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Power Supply: OCZ 700w and Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint 500gb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?Ite...

CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Plus
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I want to OC the CPU to like 3.8 if i can and the 5970 will have enough clearance in this case correct???

^ The i7 920 is a LGA 1366 pin CPU whereas the mobo that you have chosen is a P55, which supports only LGA 1156 CPUs...
So choose a mobo that has X58 chipset...
ASRock X58 that techmo linked, Asus P6X58D Premium that MadAdmiral linked, and the Gigabyte X58A that I linked are the X58 boards that support the 920...

Or you can choose the i7 860 route and go with that mobo and 4GB of RAM, that would offer very similar gaming performance as that i7 920 setup...

lol thanks for the catch!! I went with the gigabyte you linked and i also was able to bundle it with the i7-920. So changing that out with the rest of the stuff from above im sitting at around 923.34!! Thanks for all the help guys!! I may be coming to you for more advice on OCing this thing if you want to help. I also plan on taking pictures so you can see all the advice you have given put into action!!
