Hello. Please can any one help?I have a Dell Dimension 5000 Desktop PC but cannot play any of the latest games. I believe I need a new graphics card. Is there anything else I need to do to get going with newer games? I have not done any updates up to now so the pc is still the same as when we had it.
Many thanks

The Dell Dimension 5000 used a chipset that supported Pentium 4 processors... which are NOT sufficient for gaming anymore. If you are to upgrade, most of the cards in the $70 range, like a 4670, should suffice for games like WoW (IIRC the Dimension 5000 did have a PCIe slot)... but, newer games like Dragon Age, simply won't run in any kind of fun/playable way without at least a C2D.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but I'm not about sugar coating things.

also not to rub it in but some of the PC companies like dell sometimes save costs by not putting AGP or PCIE slots on there motherboards so check to make sure your PC has one
