Can someone explain why I am losing frames?? 5850

I used to play fallout 3 rock solid at 60FPS all the time, even in crazy situations. Now, I have dropped to about 32 in some places. Sometimes I have my good old 60 frames back and then i'll enter a new cave and im back down in the 30's even without much happening? Is it a problem with the video card, the drivers, perhaps my HDD? Its a WD Black 500gb. The rest of the specs are posted in my signature if necessary. Thanks for the help.

It was exactly the same. (I meant to mention that) I'm yet to change any of the parts from when I first built the thing a little over a month ago. However, now i'm finding that fallout is running substantially choppier than it used to. Although sometimes I do get my desired framerates, they dont seem to last.

If you havent changed any hardware the only thing I can think of is maybe your AA or AF settings got bumped up or some other graphical settings.

or check the temp of the 5850 after an hour or so of gaming to see if its overheating.
