New sata hdd not in boot device priority

I have installed a new sata hdd and I want to use it as the OS. It is ready to go but does not show up in the "boot device priority" in bios although it DOES show as hdd. I presume that is why comp wont boot from it? Other drives are ide and I want to use them as data storage or whatever.

I would change the ide jumpers to the slave setting, and prep your sata drive as the main boot device using the hardrive manufacturer's software. I use maxblast 5, which works with several brands, and gives you the option of cloning your old drive.
