Hello new to the forums and to pc building. Just wanted your thoughts on this build.
Case - Cooler Master HAF 922
CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz
Motherboard - ASUS Crosshair III Formula AM3
GPU - XFX HD-577A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770
Power Supply - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V
Memory - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Media - LITE-ON Black 24X
CPU Cooler - XIGMATEK Dark Knight-S1283V
That's a really good build, but I would change the motherboard to a ASUS M4A79XTD instead of the Crosshair III just because it's cheaper and with that money spend on a 5850. The ASUS M4A79XTD is already a really good motherboard I really don't see why spend more money on motherboard if you can use that money for better components.
Just saying I have a ASUS M4A79XTD on my system right now and really I would suggest to any one building something on a AM3 platform, it's cheap, good quality, good overclock capability, crossfire , enough connector(at least for me)
Really get the M4A79XTD instead, and a 5850, mainly if you want max out everything with AA X8/16. With a 5770 probably you would just be able to that if you turn off the AA, keep in mind 5770 is a basically compared to a 4860, the 5850 compared to a crossfire of 4850(just saying about performance, I know it's not)
I would also change the CPU Cooler to a Coolermaster Hyper 212. It's a cheap cooler and one of the best.
If you want to Crossfire, you may want to spend a little more for a 750W PSU. Corsair is a good choice, but also look at the prices of Antec Earthwatts, OCZ, FSP, SeaSonic, and Silverstone. These are all good quality units, so you might be able to save some money.
