Crysis running only on 1 core?

Hey,
I'm trying to run crysis on my pc, and I can do it all on very high, but my cpu is limiting my game performance... i get sound stutters and such when gaming, and when I checked the resource monitor, it showed that one core was maxed out, and the other was at about 50-70%... I would like it to utilize all of it's potential until I get my new Mobo and cpu, and ideas how i can scale crysis better on my cores?

SPECS:
AMD ATHLON X2 6000+
STANDARD HP M8200N MOBO
ATI HD5770
4GB RAM @667MHZ
500W PSU
500GBHDD
WIN 7 64BIT

More about : crysis running core

You dont just bump a thread 3 hours after you posted..... You should wait at least 24hours to bump....

crysis has poor multi-core utilization. A game like Far Cry 2 does a much better job. I had the exact same CPU as you when I played Crysis, its par for the course of what you described.

He told you how long to wait, and you gave an exaderated response because it didn't answer your question. Rude.

You CPU not maxing out is a good thing. This means you GPU is likely maxed out and your CPU doesn't have to work to the max to keep up. Remember, most games are GPU bound, the CPU only has to keep u, and isn't the deciding factor/bottleneck to your FPS unless you have a slow CPU matched with a high-end GPU setup.

no, crysis has poor multicore utilisation, games have to be designed from the ground up to use multicore if it ws patchable then all software could be patched to be multicore.
