New build problems

Hi.
I just built a new desktop and am having some problems.
Parts:
XFX 750i SLI motherboard
Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.9GHZ
4 GB Cosair DDR2
PNY GeForce 9800GT
Lite On BDROM
Seagate 500GB 7200RPM
OCZ 700W modular power supply

I had no initial problems installing Windows 7, but after installing software and rebooting several times it began telling me there was no internet connection, even though the ethernet port was blinking as it should be. I tried running the Win7 setup disk to repair it, but it froze during setup. After trying again the setup got to partition choosing and told me i could not install on the new partition i created. I tried restarting again and now I can't even get to the install screen.

I tried switching to an XP install disk. It now gets to the "setup is checking your hardware configuration" screen and goes black indefinitely. Occasionally there will be no video output whatsoever.

I have tried swapping out the ram, hard drive, and disk drive and have continued encountering the same problems. I'm starting to think it's the motherboard, but i'm not quite ready to send it in for repairs until i'm sure.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

One more thing you can try swapping out: the PSU.
