Stupid me spilled water on the laptop. I had to get a new motherboard
(whole computer with broken screen), and once I did, everything
worked but the screen. I expected that. So, I replaced the broken
screen with my other screen, nothing still. I am scratching my head
here. So, I figured, ok, maybe my old screen got wet, so I replaced
inverters. Nope. What could this be? Do you recommend I just find
another one? Could water have damaged my old one?

If you didn't get water in the lid, it's unlikely that the screen or
inverter is actually bad (if you did get water in the lid, there are
lots of possibilities).
How long ago did this happen? Usually, water will eventually evaporate
and the laptop will work again. It can take a few weeks, but as often
as not, water, if that all that it is, does no damage (the keyboard may
be an exception to this) (also, I'm presuming that the laptop wasn't
actually immersed or held under a faucet).
From your description, I'd most suspect that you just didn't get it
back together correctly.
