Just bought my 1st decent computer: FX8150, HD6850, mobo GA970a-D3 rev. 1.1(whoops), 8Gb PC12800 g.skill, 240 HyperX SSD, etc standard stuff. Got into OC'ing the system with MSI Afterburner(good utilty) and AMD Overdrive(BAD utility).
AOD provided a good mental picture of the interrelationships of my efforts. Nothing else good to add about AOD.
I cautiosly and conservatively experimented with OC upto 3.9 with Turbo Boost and up to 4.1 without Turbo. Very little voltage adjusting(afraid to fry something).
Tried save/load, set as default, apply at boot, check fans, temps, voltages. Most everything was inconsistent. Instability was the big problem even at low OC's. Exitting AOD would lose aero glass, occasional flickering, and some BSOD's and freezing.
After days of experimenting (and actually checking TOM's) I ditched AOD and went to the BIOS. No instabilities or BSODs, everyday settings at 3.9+ and 4.3+ Turbo.
Moral: learned alot from AOD (and TOM's), use BIOS for working configs.
