No sound on a Centrino Fujitsu laptop

I searched through the archives but to no effect. Does anyone know how
to opvercome this problem. There is no sound on a Fujitsu Amilo
laptop. The sound in neither muted nor is there a sound devive
installed - none is displayed in the devive manager under system in
the control panel. The laptop does not make any sounds. I have no
drivers or a cd that came with the laptop. All I got was a restore
option on a hidden partition. Any clues?
