WIN XP unable to read WIN 7 install DISC that installs fine in VISTA?

WIN XP message: "Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted or could be using a format that is not compatible with windows." However the same Win 7 installation disc works fine on a VISTA computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to upgrade both computers to WIN 7 ULTIMATE.

  1. Marginal DVD drive.
  2. ^ +1 My thoughts also
  3. DVD drive functions fine on everything else. I think I finally realized that the problem may be that the WIN 7 ULTIMATE I purchased on EBAY is really a clever fake, after viewing several examples on YOUTUBE. Thanks for your replies though.
