I7 860 running too hot?

i am working on my first newbuild and am worried that my cpu is running hot. in the BIOS the cpu temp is 37c and the system temp is 39c in idle. parts list below:

antec 900 case
ga-p55a-ud4p motherboard
i7 860 cpu
cooler master 212plus heat sink/fan

should i be concerned?

At this point no... I would recommend running Prime95's Blend test for 2 hours roughly and post your temps. I would be more concerned if your load temps are too high versus your current idle temps.

Nope, those temps are fine/good idle temps.

i ran Prime95 Blend like you said and got the following temps:

temp 1: 36c
temp 2: 25c
temp3: 53c
core 0: 62c
core 1: 61c
core 2: 62c
core 3: 60c
core 4: 59c
core 5: 59c

are those safe? i have not oc'd.

Those temps are still well within the safe limits... Your temps are okay
