Unable to format my hp compaq nc 4400

please am using an hp Compaq nc 4400 laptop without a CD / DVD-Rom, and want to format cos there has been a lots of virus. but cant do it how should i go about? Thank you

purchase an external USB CD/DVD drive. they are quite cheap.
