msconfig tweaking i5 430m cores

I went into msconfig and fond that there are 4 cores possible for the i5 430m processor. Is it safe to set to 4 cores even though it is a dual core with 4 cores because of hyperthreading ?

Windows thinks its a 4 core processor because of Hyper Threading.

Is there a performance increase when you set it to 4 cores or is it safer to let windows control it ?

If windows controls it it is already set to that like I said windows will see a hyper threaded dual core processor as a 4 core. If you keep it so windows controls it will set it to 4 core automatically and if you open up task manager you will see 4 threads.
