Gaming build as mentioned in title, and I will specifically be playing things like mw2, crysis, empire, etc. I do not have parts to reuse, monitor is 1280-1024, soon to be upgraded. I am also not sure if the athlon will work with that mobo because newegg only says phenom x4, x3.......

thanks

OSU, Are you running your memory in dual channel mode? dooes the hyper 212 overlap? the memory i want to get looks like it has pretty tall heatspeaders so if you could tell me how the hyper 212 looks in ur case that would be awesome.

The Fan on my 212 comes out to the first set of Ram slots on my MOBO (Even though Im using the second set of slots) but does not over lap. I am running Dual channel ram.

Let me see if I can dig up a few pictures to share. unfortunately I am at work atm so access is limited..lol

*EDIT What Mobo are you planing on getting? This is the Board I am currently using..... GIGABYTE GA-790FXTA-UD5

*Edit 2 If you look at tecmo's stick on building PC's he used a Hyper 212 and a gigabyte board and the way he mounted the 212 looks like it does cover the first slot. However I mounted mine slightly different where the fan is blowing out the rear exhaust.

Okay. are you running them in dual channel using the first two blue slots, or dyu think they would fit if you wanted to? My motherboard RAM slots and cpu slots are the same as on your board.

I will have to look when I get home. According to my Mobo I had to use the second slots (White) to hit the specs of my ram so I really did not even think about it to be honest.

When I get home Ill take a peak and let you know. But by looking at Tecmos post and knowing how mine is set up it does not look like it would even be that close.

To give you a better Idea if you look at his MOBO with the 212 installed on it. mine is turned 180 degrees.
