I am trying to build a custom PC, i have found a processor but i am unsure whether it will be good for 40FPS on minecraft on the laggiest options, i am planning to record so 50FPS at highest settings would be good, I have a 'Nvidia Geforce GTX 650 1Gb' Graphics card, please help me and give me a straight up answer as to if it is good enough for my requirements, or if not, what is a good processor?

With that GPU my opinion, i3 3220 is perfectly fine. Duel core with decent clock rate, won't bottlenexk your GPU, so yes, if you can not afford an I5, go for the I3.

You are good.

A i3-3220 is about as good as it gets for a dual core cpu. It way exceeds the optimal requirements for minecraft.
And very few other games use more than 2 cores.

Your GTX650 also way exceeds optimal minecraft requirements.
