I am currently looking at building a new system, I have done one in the past but it ran quite hot. With my need build I am looking to find a cooling system no more than $200-250 (preferably under $200) which will be able to efficiently cool the following rig.
-Thermaltake ArmorPlus(Armor+) VH6000BWS Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case
-Turtle Beach RIVIERA 5.1 Channels 24-bit 48KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - OEM
-Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EARS 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
-Fujitsu MBA3147NC 147GB 15000 RPM 8MB Cache SCSI Ultra320 80pin 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
-PLEXTOR Black 8X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal BD Combo Model PX-B320SA LightScribe Support - OEM
-GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD5 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
-Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor
-G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7Q-8GBRM
-GIGABYTE GV-N26SO-896I GeForce GTX 260 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
The cooling can be any combination of fans or heatsinks or whatever else there is.
The ram you are getting is made for i7's on lga1156. That socket is dual channel(same as the ram your gonna get). You want triple channel ram, so ram with 3 sticks or 6. I dont know if it would work or not, just that it wasnt meant for i7 920's socket with triple channel.
