How do I overclock

I am really new to overclocking, so new in fact I have never even contemplated doing it. But now I want to.

I have an i5-750 on an ASUS P7P55D-E Pro LGA 1156 Intel P55 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 mobo, and a cooler master hyper 212 plus

First, where do I start? I literally have no idea what to do. Do I need to download software? Mess with the hardware?

I don't want to go extreme, just something that I can keep OCed all the time, and is stable.

Thanks

first consider something:

Do you need more power?

I run a lot of things at one time, sometimes it gets bogged down. Plus, I am one of those people who does stuff just because he can. I probably dont need any more, but I want to see how it performs.

You should spend some quality time in the "overclocking" section of the forum. Overclocking isn't something to jump into without knowing what you're doing unless you want to risk frying your fancy new hardware.

Hi.

See answer here is a OC guide of the i5-750, maybe isn't the same mobo, but are very similar.

very true.

btw have you considered your RAM may be full?

I mean, if you have an i5 im assuming you have plenty, but you never know.... 2gb just ain't enough anymore these days.
