How to fix a memory stick

hi there im really stuck as my memory stick is not being recognised, ie wont appear on my computer screen, or if i go into manage disks and rename driver, it tells me that there is no disk in renamed driver.... help!!!

can you please elaborate on the issues you are having, and also list your computer specs? Please don't confuse memory sticks with Harddrives.
