APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Less than a week

BUDGET RANGE: 1300-1400-ish range

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Graphic Work (Adobe Master Collection), Gaming, Web surfing

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Need everything

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA

PARTS PREFERENCES: Don't know much so.......

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe, most likely not.

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Possibly in the future...

MONITOR RESOLUTION: at least 1680 x 1050

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: below

----------------------------------------------------

Ok so my knowledge on PC parts isn't very expansive so help me out. I need everything, if I'm missing somethign let me know.

I was just wondering if this build works at all. I play video games and do graphic work. I would like to play games at a fairly high fps and quality, but I don't need MAX. I have the Adobe Master collection and want a full new rig.

I would like to make it cheaper if possible, but if there is a part thats a lot better and not too much more thats cool too. Let me know if it looks good, or if it looks like a$$, give me suggestions. I'm going to order this weekend hopefully. Thanks.

I'd like to keep the budget under $1400-ish. Thanks.

That mobo wont work with the CPU, Are you trying for a s1156 or s1366 ?
Related resources
February 12, 2010 12:13:48 AM

That one would work or you can look at this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... it has USB 3.0

Also have you looked into the i7 860 s1156 ? it has a tad higher clock speed and HT for 80 bucks more that would help in photoshop ( Review http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=364... )

Also this HDD would be faster then the WD black http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

HDD review ( http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/storage/2009/04/13/sea... )

Both would work ( just one would be a tad faster )
February 12, 2010 12:33:11 AM

Thanks for the suggestions again. I put the Intel Core i7-860 into my build. :)  I'll take the little extra speed.
February 12, 2010 12:39:48 AM

NP GL with the build and Enjoy
February 12, 2010 6:18:46 PM

Hmmm I'll have to give that one some thought, 100 bucks is quite a bit, unless I can cut elsewhere. It's a very nice Graphics card though. Sheesh, decisions decisions.
February 12, 2010 6:28:24 PM

With some combos you can def. save the 100 bucks or so to get the 5850.

Look at the combos there is a combo deal for an Antec 300 Illusion and Antec earthwatts 650 for like 120 I think on New Egg. That right there just saved you 60 bucks or so.

Here you go I still had it saved

Oh missed your HD Selection I would switch to this HD it is better then the WD Green

Seagate 7200.12 1TB
February 12, 2010 7:07:45 PM

Hey thanks for the combo, I'll go with that.

As far as the HD goes, I'm not going to risk it, because over 100 user reviews claimed it died on them.
February 12, 2010 7:12:16 PM

Just dig through the Egg for a bit I am sur you can come close to driveing the cost down 100 bucks and being able to get the better GPU.
February 12, 2010 10:20:35 PM

If you can tell me for sure if your going to OC or add a 2nd GPU down the road we can work on the build to fit in a better GPU, But a maybe is money your spending on a bigger PSU and HSF that you wont need if you never do thos that can be put to a better GPU
February 12, 2010 10:25:14 PM

Well I can always upgrade stuff later. Lets say for this one I DON'T plan on overclocking or adding in a 2nd GPU. Lets try to fit in a better GPU for now. Knock down whatever else you think is possible.
February 12, 2010 11:57:04 PM

Do you need a OS ?
February 13, 2010 12:29:14 AM

I actually already have a copy of windows 7, forgot to mention that.

If you want to save some money i would say to buy a HD 5770 ( not the HD 5750 ) and xfire them latter you will have the same or better FPS then a HD 5850 depending on games. Read the benchmarks first tho http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3658&p=1

But remember if you start with a HD 5850 and xfire your FPS will be a lot better :)

Only you can set the line to what FPS you must have and what GPU fits that, just poke around on benchmark of different GPUs
