installations think I have different os, help!

Hello,
I'm running windows XP SP3 as shown on system properties when I download software for XP it says I do not have the right operating system. I have confirmed that I do have XP SP3 on system properties.

It is making me crazy and my only techy friend will not help me!! Please, please help me, I can't get an adobe reader so I can't even see any PDFs and I can't even get my mouse drivers!

Did U had another OS previously? Did you recently installed xp?
Do you have dual boot?
What XP? 32 or 64 bits ? Maybe U have 64 bits.

Thanks for responding. I did have vista and my system crashed so I got a new motherboard and installed XP SP3. It's a 32 bit. I don't know what a dual boot is, sorry.
