Using DXVA with HD3650 and non-standard resolution (2048x1152)

I recently bought a Samsung 2342BWX LCD monitor that has a resolution of 2048x1152. I also bought a Powercolor HD3650 video card.

After tinkering for hours, I finally got hardware acceleration to work when I adjusted my resolution to 1920x1080. DXVA is definitely being used because my CPU usage went down a lot.

My problem is that @ 1920x1080 the text is blurry when I'm not watching movies, and I want to make use of the high resolution. It's not much of a hassle to switch back to the native resolution after finishing a movie, but I was wondering if anyone has the same combination (ATI avivo + DXVA + non-standard resolution) and has found a more practical solution.

I am using the ffdshow DXVA decoder with MPC in Windows 7.
