The newest BIOS for that board was released in 2009, so no, a 4100 has no chance of working with that board.

I hate to sound really cheeky but could you find me a GOOD processor around 3GHz on ebay ( UK ) ?

Under around £100

It should be a nice upgrade, yeah. The extra core and higher clock speed alone will be the biggest difference, but going from a Phenom I (which really weren't that great) to a Phenom II helps too.

"A Lot" is subjective, though. It may seem like "a lot" to you, or it may not.

Here is a good CPU for that motherboard, could be better options like the 955 with the 95 watt tdp but that's real rare to find brand new.

Yeah, I didn't even try to look for the 955. The 945 is just fine for him, IMO. 200Mhz isn't make or break.

OP: Here's the support list for that board, though. http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Foxconn/A74ML-K.html

I would recommend asking that over in the Graphics and Displays section. They're quick over there, usually.

The 955 is better by a real small margin, don't think you will be able to tell much of a difference as DJDeCiBeL has claimed. Anyways for a good video card I would consider the HD 7770 as a nice solution. With my phenom II X4 955 and the HD 7770 gaming at the resolution of 1600x900 I can max out most games including Skyrim.

+1^ that is the official category   , if you don't want to start a new thread that is still fine. We will still help you out, though I am not an expert as the people who specialize in that category.

Okk thanks for the quick response, so i will go buy this one ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AMD-Phenom-II-X4-955-3-2GHz-S... )

Just to make shure will it 100% Work in my Computer ?

Wait that one is used...I don't exactly recommend buying used processors since no one knows their history. Could have been dropped from the 10th floor of a building for all I know

And I think all of the 95W 955's were OEM, so it wouldn't come with a heatsink (which you'll definitely need a better one than you have now for it).

The 945 that I linked is brand new, in-box, so everything's all good, there.

Well then because of the OEM status then I would just go for the 945 and use the stock heatsink. You don't really need an aftermarket cooler if your not overclocking. If you are still determined in getting the 955 then get a TX-3 evo or the Hyper 212 plus/evo. They are pretty cheap and will cool real nice.

Interesting that one states in the product description it includes a heatsink (well they state a fansink but I guess its the same). Yep you can go for that one as well if you want.

Edit: Just realized it was a black edition which the DJ has pointed out. Makes sense, the 95 watts don't come with heatsinks which is why I was kind of surprised. Anyways your motherboard can only support 95 watts for the TDP at max. I have heard some motherboard can run with 125 watt CPUs even though the TDP is 95 watts but it reduces the lifespan of the motherboard by a lot.
