Help me pick a cpu fan and heatsink?

I currently have a 1090t with stock cooler. Even though i have three case fans, it still runs at 6000rpm when the cpu is at full load. (it keeps it around 55C though). It's probably because my dorm is around 70-73F and my radeon 6850 has the type of fan where it blows up towards the cpu. Anyways, 6k rpm is loud and I want something quieter. I was thinking about the hyper 212+ but I heard it can get even louder. Would my setup cause it to be noisier than the stock fan? I don't plan on overclocking fyi. As long as I can't noticeably hear it over my 2000 rpm 120mm front case fan it's good enough for me. (it's rated at 30dba).
Thanks.

Forgot to ad , the fan is DEAD SILENT ! After 2 hours running 6 cores at 100% the fan was silent , 43c stock clocks , 53c oc to 3.9

I have the same setup , was tired of the turbo jet stock fan , plus temps were hitting 60c+ playing bf3 , got $the 18.00 logisiys mc3002gx , keeps it under 53c and is quiet , and it fits the case no problem . I cleaned off the factory thermal paste and used ocz freeze , not sure that makes a difference though .

let me add I just changed the factory paste with ocz freeze , all six cores running 100% for 2 hours , max temp 43c , idles at 21c room temp 23c ,. best damn cooler ever for the price ! $18.00 fits the case easily and cools 20c better than factory . factory was 32c idle , 63c when stressed 100% .
When I OC the 1100t at 3.9 idle temp goes up tp 26 , maxes out at 52 c

First, do you have the clearance for a tower style cooler, both from the case and your RAM?

A lot of people will recommend the 212, and it's a good cooler. You might be able to get a Xigmatek Gaia for less though, and they're about equal in cooling.
