I am getting ready to do a new upgrade that consists of a core i5, 4gb of 1600 mhz ram and a new video card. However, i am not sure if i want to buy a 4890 or buy a 4850x2. I plan to overclock the i5, and would like to get peoples opinions on which card they think would be a better choice.

4890-$200

4850x2-$210

Im open to other suggestions, as ive been hearing about a 5830 coming out sometime soon(not sure what price to expect on that one). Also, ive been looking this up for a while, but all of the things i come across are threads or posts on other sites that are rather old, that say that some games wont even use the second 4850 in the x2 version of that card. Is that still true with newer games?

Im also wondering what kind of 3dmark06 score i could get with an i5 somewhere near 4Ghz, 4gb of ddr3 ram, and either of these cards.

Thanks in advance

Although this shows two 4850 512mb cards in crossfire, a 4850x2 will be slightly better. This article shows the 4850s being about 25% better than the 4890. Seems worth it for just $10 more but it dose not have DX11 so it won’t be as future proof.
