I have 1 pci-e 1.0 slot.Would I be wasting my money buying a pci-e 2.0 card? If not,are 2.0 cards all compatible with 1.0? computer is athlon 64x2 4200+2.2ghz,4g/ddr2 sdram.System has nvidia geforce 6150LE on board chip.looking for $150 range gaming card.

you will bottleneck a PCI 2.0 card in a 1.0 slot

and your better off buying a new system because most new cards will be bottlenecked by that processor

but this is the best you can get

I was pretty sure it would bottleneck, but wanted an experts advise. I'm just wanting good resolution to play MS FLIGHT SIM X and REALFLIGHT R.C. SIMULATOR. Will I see a big improvement over the "on board" NVIDIA GEFORCE 6150LE(250MB) if I install the GALAXY card? I have a SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER 940BW WITH 1440X900 32BIT max. resolution. Will my 300w. p.s. have to be upgraded? Thinking of a CORSAIR 650w. Your help is greatly appreciated! MIDSTORM

Of course, with 9500GT it much better than the onboard 6150LE... :)
9500GT doesn't need a power connector cable from PSU, u will be fine with 300W psu.

I'm going to order the GALAXY 9500GT you suggested and keep the P.S. I have. Thanks, you saved me a lot of money. I'll give you an update when I get the board installed and tested.

greetings. i received the galaxy 9500gt card from newegg, installed the card and loaded the software with no problems. i tried max. on most of the settings and found control response to be poor and had screen stutter. i reduced many of the settings to 50% before controls were as responsive as they were with the old on-board graphics. screen refresh rate is as low as 6.1f/s and max. is 13.1f/s. tower temp.was 90F after 2hours of play, isn't that too high? the card i received was a DDR2, not a GDDR2 as stated in the ad.(the item number was the same) i know GDDR2 is faster, but would it make that much difference? i am getting better graphics, but was hoping for more. guess my old(2006)computer just can't cut it. thanks again for your help.
