ATI 4650 on 300w PSU?

I'm looking to get a budget video card for my new computer until I can get a power supply AND a high tier video card at the same time. My computer currently has no video card, only the onboard Intel GMA 3100.

Will an ATI Radeon HD 4650 512MB 128-bit DDR2 work with a 300W PSU? The PSU says the 12v rail's max is 19A.

If there are any other budget video cards that are better, feel free to tell me! ($50 before tax/S&H please)

Welcome to the forums!

Yes, a 4650 should work just fine with your PSU.

Thank you! I appreciate a warm welcome and a fast response! (I might order that card today :)  )

Would it make any difference if it were a Radeon HD 4650 1GB 128-bit DDR3?

The DDR3 4650 will be a good bit faster and will still have no issues with your PSU :)

Just to make sure, the card doesn't require a power connector does it?

Nope, it draws all its power directly from the PCIe slot.

Yup, the 4650 is designed to work with low power systems like yours.
It should work just fine.
