Computer will not start with gts 250

I just purshsed a GTS 250 XFX card and when put in the computer wont start up. but without the computer will turn on. my motherbord dosnt have on bord video so i cant plug a montior in it. So how do i get it to work in my computer

1. What power supply do you have?
2. Did you plug in the card the 2 six pin cables.
