Crysis and a 4870

I just installed a HIS ICE-Q 4 4870 1gb 256-bit gddr5 790/1015 clocks. My question is why am I not able to max out Crysis? Set-up: X4 940@3.55, 8gb ddr2@856mhz,OCZ 550-watt PSU,ASUS M3A78-CM. Whats bottlenecking me?

    Your resolution, most likely.

Crysis is a resource hog. I can only play with enthusiast settings, and 4xaa on crysis warhard at 1280x720, or 2xaa at 1440x900. I can only run native resolution of my monitor (1920x1080) by shutting of AA entirely.

The 4870 is a great card, but it is not a crysis killer, not at higher resolutions, anyhow.
  2. I was playing at 1920x1080 no aa on high. So which card is the "Crysis Killer"?
  3. It's crysis.

I have to ask which rock you have been living under these last few years.
  4. I knew it was resource intensive. It was a question. Why are you trying to flame my thread?

  6. I forgot to detail the fact that I can't use enthusiast settings at 1920x1080, and step down a bit when trying that resolution. Some of it has to do with lower amount of Vram, but mostly that the 4870 will struggle on crysis at that resolution, regardless.
  7. There Is NO Cards Out YET, That Will Run Crysis At It Highest Settings, But I Can Run 2xAA And 4AF At High (Except For Physics And I Set That To Low, Thats More Of A CPU Helper But It Can Still Help Any Machine) Set Resolution At 1280x1024 On My 9600GSO (96SPUs) 768MB

Try Running At Medium Details 2xAF And 4xAF At 1920x1280 You Should Be Fine, And Oh.. Set Physics To Low

It Will Likely Play Wonderfully And Look Incredible.
  8. Actually it plays fine all max, 4x aa at 19 x 12 with my comp. If you mean does it run 60fps constant, no. But that is not needed. Guess it is all subjective as to what is good fps.

And sorry OP if it came across as harsh but what did you expect? Take a look at any gpu review since crysis was released and you can find out all you need to know.
  9. I would rather ask on here rather than trust some biased review. Oh well, I guess I will start reading the reviews and not worry about what the actual users say. <sarcasm>, and what the hell is OP?
  10. WTF, fcuking google then. Do you know how many posts like yours their has been?

People asking what card for crysis, I can't play crysis, crysis is lagging etc etc.

Oh, and OP is original poster.
  11. Well excuse the F%#^ out of me, damn take a Xanax and chill man. and please keep your know it all ass away from my threads, please Mr. Veteran...

Thanks Hella-D, I got it on high settings in 1920x1080 no aa it averages 43fps look great I appreaciate the advice though
