I bought a Antec 620 and some AC5 thermal paste to help better cool my 3770k. I am not doing any overclocking. I know there is a burn in period regarding the paste, but I just had a few questions regarding my temps.
CPU ide - 40c
CPU load (while playing battlefield 3 in first five minutes) - 57c was the hottest I saw
MB idle - 38c
MB load (BF3) - 45c-50c
Also, I was curious about GTX670 FTW. I have the fan curve scaled to a little faster when it reaches 50 to 70c.
ide - 39-51c
load (BF3) - 72c is the highest I saw it so far.
It also takes a while longer to get temps back down, both cpu and gpu. The GPU especially after games (30minutes after) still stays around 50c. before games it never really goes about 42c (web browsing, etc.)
The Room is roughly 70F
What temps are acceptable? I know with my stock Intel cooler I was seeing similar temps now that its water cooled if not maybe slightly better. I am curious your thoughts regarding all three temps. And if something appears to be of error maybe let me know ways to correct. I don't believe I put too much paste on, I spread it evenly. I did use a about a grain of rice, and spread it out with a credit card.
Oh, and all my fans I have on auto with target speed at max.
Well, the 620 isn't really that good of a cooler. (not real watercooling)
It might be the mounting, or the amount of paste you've used.
I turned the fan around to make it an intake. I have a 200mm fan at the top of my case that is sucking air out. and my front fan is still acting as intake, my 670 obviously sucks air out. now under load
cpu load - reached 52c but jumped down to 49c
mb - reached 45c which is slightly hotter.
gpu idles - 2c higher now.
gpu reached 62c under load with fans at 60-70percent.
the cpu temp benefits but the other components are running slightly hotter due to the 200mm fan's not forcing out or in fast enough air I believe.
If I make the front fan an exaust will that my my graphics card over heat because no fresh air going infront of it?
Here is a picture of my case. The cpublock is now with the logo facing the right way. The radiator fan is working as intake, the top fan is exaust.
there is a fan in the front of the case working as intake. and as you know the 670 is sucking air out of the case.
My case is rather small, the graphics card kind of sections off the case enough to make me believe that it can work having two intake fans front and back and have the exaust being top and graphics card.
After looking at this picture, any thoughts? (besides how messy my cables look. lol, I wish I woulda bought a modular psu..
