Help - Lowering the CPU Socket Arm

I'm in the process of building my first PC. I have put the CPU in the socket and now need to lower the socket arm. (i5 750 and Gigabyte ud4p)

How hard do you need to pull down on the socket arm to lock it into place? Should there be tension? Any advice would be very helpful.

There will be some tension, but dont push it so hard that it visibly bends the arm. You will need to apply some pressure to get it under the bracket arm thing..
