Hey,

I recently purchased a 220 GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162040&cm_re=nvidia_220_gt-_-14-162-040-_-Product specifically) and I've been getting bouts of BSOD errors on startup (nv4_disp error) or odd pixelated patterns on the monitor.

However, If I start the computer in safe mode w/ networking and restart the computer from safe mode my computer works perfectly fine.

I'm not having problems with the new card once I successfully start the OS.

Help would be appreciated,

Specs:
Windows XP 32bit
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4600 @ 2.40GHz
2.0 GB RAM
450W PSU

Enter "Safe Mode" with networking

uninstall ALL video drivers from Add/Remove programs under the control panel
Once that is done, Restart in safe mode again then go to

http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

Get Driver Sweeper and install it.

Now run it and select Nvidia - Display and ATI - Display if you had an ati card.
You could go delete the Nvidia and ATI(if you had ati) folders if you wish.

Restart in normal mode and try to install the latest Nvidia drivers from nvidia.com. DO NOT use the drivers from the CD that comes with the card, they are always out of date.

Hope this helps

EDIT, Beat to it by lothdk :p
