RAM Compatibility Question

Hi I currently own this RAM:
G.skill Ripjaws Series 4gb DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

i currently own an i7
I bought dual channel at first because I'm a student and DDR3 ram a couple of months ago was expensive
I bought those g.skill ram for $105+tax+shipping
so a triple channel would've been $150+

Now my question is:
what other type of rams can I purchase that are compatible with this RAM without doing any tweeking?

what do you guys think of these?

2nd question: what is the difference between 9-9-9-24 and 9-9-9-24-2n? r they compatible?

Hi marshmlol and welcome to Tom's hardware forum.

1- Try to go with the same brand and specs with that u can avoid future problems. In this case the 2nd one has very similar specs to ur current RAM but try to find the same model. Does ur i7 support tri-channel? If i'm right could be better re-sell ur current RAM and get a new tri channel RAM.

2- Those are the same but the 1st one don't say the 2N and yeah are compatible.

I assume, as saint19 alluded to, that you own a Core i7 900 series and an x58 motherboard? If you own an 800-series on a P55 motherboard, these only support dual-channel.
