Recently built desktop, video card problems.

Motherboard: Biostar G41-M7
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core E6300
Video: EVGA GeForce 9500GT 1gb

I just recently built this computer yesterday and I managed to get everything working and installed Windows 7 as well. However, when I try to power on the system with the video card seated, nothing happens on the monitor, basically no signal. The fans are running and I hear one short beep, but that's it.

But if I take out the video card, the system boots up into Windows 7 and goes to the desktop, etc. perfectly. Not sure what's going here.

does the monitor say no signal, or does it just go to sleep mode?
plug it in once more and check that it's properly in and the power cables are in snug
also did you install the drivers?

I'll check the monitor thing in a bit, but I can't install any drivers apparently. The CD that came with the 9500gt is only compatible with XP/Vista and when I downloaded the recent ones from the EVGA site, it says "The Nvidia Setup Program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware."

The monitor stays in Sleep Mode.

check the drivers again, otherwise when i had the same issue with my monitor staying in sleep mode i had the display on another monitor which meant i had to boot up and change the display; i don't think that's the problem here. Try NVIDIA's site for drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_32bit_196.21_whql.html
