Hey all, My hard drive in my desktop went about a week ago and I just got a new one yesterday. It's a bare drive and I have no boot disk for my windows 7 anymore, I do have other windows 7 computers though, can I somehow copy the OS to my new drive and authenticate it with my product key?

It sounds like you will have to buy another W7 installation disk and use its product key to install the OS onto your new hard drive. After your system is installed, be sure to back up your system periodically to a backup drive or media. I have successfully used Acronis to restore my system after hard disk failure, but there are other programs that will also work.

You can use any correct version win7 installation disk with your product key. Some versions have been available as a ISO (disk image) download on the web.

Free in some instances!

It's possible you could take it to a local repair shop which would use their disk and your key, and hopefully not charge to much.
