P6T6 Pro vs P6T6 WS Revolution

I posted this in the main Motherboards forum incorrectly. Re-posting here where it should have gone in the first place...

ASUS P6T6 Professional vs P6T6 WS Revolution

Which of these is the preferred workstation board? Light Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel usage. No gaming on this box.

It's getting an i7 930 2.8, SSD Boot Drive, 6gb1333 memory.

Thanks!

  1. I would just go with the ASUS X58 SABERTOOTH at $200. It has all you need and the newer tech (USB 3.0 & SATA III) for future growth. I don't see you need either of these older boards for your needs.
  2. ^ Neither, I do not like ASUS WS boards. I love their other boards. But I too should add, ALL of my real WS are Xeon.

If you are not using ~ Quadro or pro GPU then don't bother with any of this, and instead use any X58 MOBO. Workstation: {Fully Spec'd/Compliment, Pro GPU, Xeon, & ECC} otherwise forget it all.
  3. Thanks,

Graphics card is Quadro FX 580

Any other thoughts regarding the 2 ASUS MOBO's?
  4. ^ Yeah, they are trouble. The Quadro's work best with Xeon.

You need to decide "what you're building" ~Gaming rig or Business Workstation.
  5. Thanks - original post said "no gaming"

No gaming. Illustrator, Photoshop, CS5, Corel X5, Office programs.
  6. ^ I was trying to remind you. I've tried the ASUS and ended up retuning both, and went with Supermicro and works great.
