It's burned?

Does this seems to be burned for you? Just look like termal paste around to me..

It looks burned to me. Looks like gray ash on the upper right of the photo.

I don’t think that you can tell just by looking at it. Does the motherboard work then?

Well apparently not... Can a piece like that burn "slowly"?

It would burn up very quickly if operated without a heatsink.

It always had a radiator on it, and recently the PC showed problems, but temperatures where totally normal...
