How to get my CPU to stay overclocked?

I am using an AMD Phenom II 1090 (not black edition) and overclocked it from 3.2 GHz to 3.8GHz and whenever I restart the computer it sets back to default settings, I am using a 970A-UD3 mobo and it has 8 gigs of RAM if that helps.

It could be a stability "failed to boot" issue.

Try bringing down the OC.

go to 3.6 see if happening this power has.

It could be the reset. Or, if you're OC'ing with software within Windows, you need to move those settings to the BIOS manually otherwise you'll have to setup that application to start automatically when Windows boots which is clunky at best. It really is best to put settings in the BIOS so you don't have to rely on software to do that.
