Okay, this is my very first build and I was wondering if you could tell me if these were good choices and if you don't think something was a good choice what I should I be looking for in the hardware and what your choice would have been or what would you add. "This build was mostly for gaming but I was also trying to make my computer the best that I possibly could"

This is what I started out with when I first bought my computer; it was a HP Pavilion a6863w Desktop PC
(below is a link to the specs)

When I bought games for the computer I found out I didn't have a video card so I bought a XFX GeForce 9800 GT Video Card
(below is a link to the specs)

After I bought the video card I decided to buy a processor so I bought the AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Quad Core Processor.

Okay, so now I am thinking about buying a new motherboard and I've been looking at the Biostar TA790GX A3+ Motherboard

Sorry, about all of the links I thought it might help you out; so I hope they did...

When I look at my system properties it says 797Mhz and the processor I bought was 3.2Ghz any ideas why or how to make it better? When I go into my decive manager it shows that I have four AMD Phenom II X4 processors.

I am trying to fix this HP to be the best gaming computer possible; I want to be able to play whatever game I want to play online or offline. I am a college student also so I need the computer to be able to preform top notch that way I can run my AutoCAD and Solidworks programs. Basically I am rebuilding the HP I bought for $700.

Okay, sounds like fun to me. I can just put all the original parts back on this one and use it purely for my college work.

I was told by my IT friend that the seagate drivers can't be beat? I do see your point about the premium 7 instead of the ultimate though.

So is the Corsair a better hard drive than the Seagate because I was also told that for the price you couldn't beat a Western Digital? Thanks for all the help dogman_1234

Okay, I was just wondering what your view was on the Corsair, Seagate and Western Digital?

I was told that the Seagate was the best and the Western Digital was the best for the money.
