Moving old drive into new system

Building a new rig will be using a 64 GB SSD for the OS. I want to use my old hard drive in this new system for storage and programs that I dont want taking up space on the SSD. Once I have the new system set up can I just put the old drive in as a slave and not have to reformat or anything or will I have back up and reformat the old drive?

I would recommend backing up the drive in any case to reformat it.

no problem with old drive just dont use it for running games
