As a 50+ y/o tinkerer, I finally got around to building a machine (which I really enjoyed). It's been running fine for a few months, but as is my nature, I want to tweak it because, well, just because I can. Anyway, I started to do a little research on overclocking (cpu and gpu) and holy smokes there's a bunch of info out there, not all of which agrees on how to do this or that. A friend of mine hangs out here and recommended I post for some help.
I'm not asking anyone to go to the trouble of walking me through this process step-by-step, but if you guys know of a trusted resource (what tools to use, etc) that outshines all others, I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
Here's what I'm working with.
ASRock X79 Extreme4
I7 3820 3.6G 10M R [i7-3820 Sandy Bridge-E 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 2011]
Kingston HyperX 16GB DDR3, 2133MHz, 4x4GB, CL11, XMP Ready
EVGA GeForce GTX 670 SC 4GB
Thanks for the help.
