Where to begin...

As a 50+ y/o tinkerer, I finally got around to building a machine (which I really enjoyed). It's been running fine for a few months, but as is my nature, I want to tweak it because, well, just because I can. Anyway, I started to do a little research on overclocking (cpu and gpu) and holy smokes there's a bunch of info out there, not all of which agrees on how to do this or that. A friend of mine hangs out here and recommended I post for some help.

I'm not asking anyone to go to the trouble of walking me through this process step-by-step, but if you guys know of a trusted resource (what tools to use, etc) that outshines all others, I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Here's what I'm working with.

ASRock X79 Extreme4
I7 3820 3.6G 10M R [i7-3820 Sandy Bridge-E 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 2011]
Kingston HyperX 16GB DDR3, 2133MHz, 4x4GB, CL11, XMP Ready
EVGA GeForce GTX 670 SC 4GB

Thanks for the help.

More about where begin
  1. Nice build, if you google Sandy Bridge-E Overclock guide, I am sure you can find any information you need. If you happen to have a specific question regarding anything listed in any guide, the people on here should be able to help.
