Have built system around Antec Sonata, AMD 64 3000, Asus K8VSE Deluxe, radeon
9600,1GB DDR & Samsung 160GB HDD. Had problems from outset booting system.
Approx. 5-15 power ups before boot occurs. When started system mostly O.K.
Also I/O ports problems:Modem on Com1 worked then failed. XP diagnosed other
equipment using port.Although there isn't anything. I removed and then
re-installed modem. Same problem. Finally disabled Com1 and installed modem
on Com2. Scanner on Parallel port not recognised, though it was on system
device list. It disappeared! Never to return. Have tried in vain to reinstall
it (OpticPro 9603)
Any help, with boot problem in particular, would be appreciated.
