Samsung notebook doesnt recognize a lacie external hard disc

Hi Guys
I have a Lacie external hard drive 1TB which for some reason isnt recognized when i connected to my new notebook samsung RF 711. However i am sure that the hard drive is ok because it works fine in another HP notebook. Can anyone give me a tip how can I make this hard drive to be recognized. I am sure also that the usb ports of my new notebook work fine because other external hard drives are recognized normally.

you have to find support from samsung please tell more info about the model and use a utility to recognize the hardware of your laptop like sisoftsandra http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/
