Why the cd drive option is not enabled in the removable storage in windows xp

hi this is pravanya i culdnt get my removable drive option in my computer it is not detecting the cd or dvd's what might be the problem please help me out

Does XP see the drive at all? If not, does your BIOS see the drive?
