Hi everyone, i've got a Core 2 Duo E6750, a Mobo Asus Stiker 2 NSE, 4Gb Ram(1600MHz), GTx 560Ti and i can´t overclock my CPU more than 3GHz or it will start heating a lot, i've seen people overclocking to 3.4GHz, without changing the core voltage (1.35v) and I got it to 1.36v and I only can overclock it to 3GHz so it doesn't heat up a lot. Please help me.

stock CPU cooler, what is hindering a further OC is the Temperature of the CPU

will that work for a core 2 quad q9660 or a q9550? What do you think of corsair H50?

it's the 6750 not the 6700 (the best sk. 775 for overclock). i already hit 3 GHz but i want more (3.4 GHz at least ) but i can't because it's temperature stays at 90ºC at gaming, but at 3.00GHz stays at 45~50ºC

i don't remember me very well but i think that is this:
FSB: 1500
Ram(ddr3): around 1400MHz
core voltage: ~1.36v

Ok....

1500 / 4 = 375. 375 * 8 = 3000GHz. Can't figure the ram speed but sounds like you are using ~ double the FSB. Assuming you are using 1600MHz ram that shouldn't be the issue. Nice to see the voltage isn't to high.

What happens when you use 400FSB? Drop the CPU multiplier down to 6x. This should give you a 2.4GHz CPU. But it will tell us if your Nvidia chipset board can even handle 400MHz.

my CPU multiplier is already at 6.0, my Ram is 1600MHz but this motherboard only accept 1333MHz ram (or 1600MHz overclocked), and i only got it around 1400MHz (i selected an memory level up to pc3-11... dont remember very well) tommorow i will bring some screenshots because i'm not at home and don't got my pc here

? I thought you said you were running it at 3GHz? 375MHz * 8 = 3Ghz. (yes, I made error in post above...) If you are running a 375MHz FSB, you only have the CPU running at 2.25GHz?

To make OCing easy change the FSB:RAM ratio to 1:1. That way you don't have to worry about the ram.
