AMD Athlon II X3 435 Rana OVERCLOCK?

I was told to buy a AMD Athlon II X3 435 Rana 2.9GHz and overclock it but i've read that it sometimes doesnt work whether it be the mobo or the processor itself.. is it safe to get one and do this? also will a 5770 run cs source and MW2 at HIGH FPS

I was able to overclock mine up to 3.2ghz by just rising the FSB to 221, on a after market cooler of course.
