Radeon HD 5770 a good upgrade over Nvidia 9800 GT?

I just ordered a Radeon HD 5770 since my Nvidia 9800GT crapped out. Will I see a noticlable upgrade in FPS?

I primarily play Team Fortress/Counter Strike Source and some Unreal III engine games.

I also hope to be able to max out Aliens Vs Predator which is Direct X 11.

I was on a budget for under $200 so the HD 5770 was the best DX11 card I could afford. Will this is better then my 9800GT?

My other specs are:

Core 2 Quad Q9300

Vista 64

Yes the 5770 will give a noticeable improvement. A vs P In my opinion its questionable if you will be able to max out, it depends on your resolution and most likely without any AA or AF. But we will see when it comes out.

Ya mien just crapped out as well, I Went with the 5850 tho. I think you should be fine, the demo doesnt even have AA just AO, VSYNC, Shadows, and Texture Quality settings.

I am glad I ordered the 5770 then.

As a huge Aliens/Predator fan I had high hopes that I will be able to play this game with good frame rates. AA is not that important to me and I am not entirely sure what AF does.

My monitor is 1440X900 by the way.

5770 will be a monster at that resolution
it destroys most games on my 1920x1080 monitor

5770 would give you a huge performance jump along with dx11....
