A Quick Question...

What is the best water cooling kit I can get sub $300? No answers should at all talk about the all-in-one units, they are a joke. Sorry in advance to those who have them. Thanks for the answers in advance. :D

More about quick question
  1. I personally would choose the XSPC Raystorm RX240 Universal CPU Water Cooling Kit w/ D5 Variant Pump. $280 at FrozenCPU, don't know if that's a black friday price or not (out of stock there anyway now). Shop around for that kit though, I think it's a good deal.

  2. Than you very much for your response, but I wonder if different coolants yield better performance any advice?
  3. The most recommended coolant (and best performing) is pure distilled water with a silver 'kill-coil' placed in the res. Sometimes biocides are also used like 'Dead Water' which comes with the kit. I personally use a kill-coil and UV light. Other additives are generally not recommended.

    I painfully realized that, thank you for reminding me though. Also, if I may ask how does one become a moderator on Tom's Hardware? :)

    I think it goes like this:
    User---->Community Reporter------>Moderator?

    I really don't know. :P

  9. @Thegun, yes I only plan on cooling the CPU, I may end up doing chilled water cooling at some point, but that's a different topic. @C12 Thank you, that helps a lot.
